My name is Taylor Cyr (pronounced like “seer”), and I am Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Samford University.
My main interests lie at the intersection of metaphysics and ethics. I work mainly on free will and moral responsibility, but I am also interested in death, immortality, time (especially time travel), and personal identity.
Before coming to Samford, I was a lecturer in the philosophy department at Washington University in St. Louis from 2018-2019. I completed my Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of California, Riverside in the spring of 2018, and before that I received my MA (also in philosophy) from Florida State University in the spring of 2013.
You can find out more about my work on the other pages of this site or by checking out my CV.
