My name is Taylor Cyr (pronounced like “seer”), and as of the fall of 2019 I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Samford University.

Previously, from 2018-2019, I was a lecturer in the philosophy department at Washington University in St. Louis. I completed my Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of California, Riverside in the spring of 2018, and before that I received my MA (also in philosophy) from Florida State University in the spring of 2013.

My main interests lie at the intersection of metaphysics and ethics. I work mainly on free will and moral responsibility, but I am also interested in death, immortality, time (especially time travel), and personal identity.
